Product information “SL” range scissors
History:In 1993 Sharpline was offered the distributorship of a quality Korean brand of hairdressing scissors. This factory had been for many years making scissors under contract for Japanese brands using all Japanese materials and parts. Although the existing brand designs were not to our liking, Sharpline did design a whole new range, the “SL” Pro Stylist hairdressing scissors. We chose as our blade metal a Japanese specially modified alloy by Hitachi 440CM. This higher molybdenum alloy had an excellent corrosion resistance and wear resistance. Sharpline spent many years teaching the “SL” factory to achieve world quality standards. By introducing the “SL” Pro Stylist range Sharpline has been able to for over 20 years give Australian hairdressers a quality choice at value for money prices, 30% to 50% cheaper than equivalent all Japanese products. Update, now hand finished in Japan.
Construction:Two piece welded. Hitachi 440CM high Molybdenum alloy stainless steel blades. Please note we only used hot and cold rolled bright grade, sheet 440CM alloy which has the densest grain structure and the lowest level of impurities. Computer controlled, vacuum furnace hardening with nitrogen injection sub-zero slow recovery tempering (performed twice). This heat treatment is the best available and ensures our finished “SL” scissors have a high corrosion resistance and a uniform hardness without being brittle. Rockwell hardness 59 to 61. Corrosion resistant handles. Japanese click plate knob type adjustment assembly.
Design features:“SL” scissors are designed to be versatile and perform all current hairdresser’s techniques very well. The flat and thin blade profile and fine finished edges are designed for the softest cutting feel. Edge retention is up to twice as long than standard stainless steel scissors. The handle designs of the “SL” Pros Stylist range have larger finger holes, are light weight and the comfortable designs are made for western hairdressers. We have added swivel models suitable for hairdressers experiencing hand and wrist pain from repetitive strain. Note: to use a swivel scissor correctly means re-learning your cutting techniques where your focus is on keeping your wrist straight and not under tension.
Edge type:“SL” Pro Stylist scissors have a super soft cutting feel. Slide cutting is easy and effortless. Precision cutting and point cutting is superb.
